Thrive Ballet: Rebrand

Thrive Ballet is a dance company located in Denver that values a holistic teaching style tailored to the individual, a positive learning environment, and affordability in their dance programming. In the Spring of 2019, I collaborated with Thrive Ballet Director Jill Oliver to create a logo and brand strategy that reflects the company's values.

The Process

The Brief:

The project goal was to create a brand style guide that solidified the company's values, complete with a logo redesign, website, and social media mockups. Jill and I sat down for several interviews to determine who they are, what they want to be, and what they want their customers to experience. Together we put Thrive Ballet's mission and values into words. Additionally, Jill's personality informed the brand personality as passionate and enthusiastic about dance, education-focused, welcoming, and approachable.

Brand Strategy:

The overall brand strategy focused on concentrating Thrive's touchpoints to match its mission, values, and personality. It was clear that at the time, their brand touchpoints (website, advertising, and logo) lacked a cohesive feel. For their web presence, I created website mockups that visually informed potential and current customers what the company's brand identity, mission, and values were. Similarly, I provided suggestions for how they could transfer their brand identity to social media in a cohesive way.

The Logo:

The logo design strategy similarly focused on narrowing down and displaying the services Thrive Ballet offers, in addition, to strictly ballet lessons. Since the company values the individual, I made a dancer the main focus of the logo. The dancer additionally signifies the dynamic motion and feeling a dancer experiences at the studio and on stage.
